Osvaldo Sequeira (b. 1969, Turrialba, Costa Rica) is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work focuses on the human figure, its emotional expressions, and—at other times—explores the urban environment as a contemporary narrative resource. A graduate in Graphic Design and Fine Arts from the University of Costa Rica, Sequeira has built a career that spans painting, drawing, animation, and art education.

His artistic practice is defined by an exploration of the human condition, employing techniques that merge traditional painting with expanded painting—an approach shaped by his background in graphic design and digital animation. This fusion results in a distinctive visual language aimed at capturing movement and emotion in static images.

In 2019, Sequeira was awarded the Francisco Amighetti National Award for Visual Arts in the two-dimensional category for his series Ser/Humano, a collection that examines human emotions through bodily representations on transparent methacrylate surfaces.

In addition to his artistic work, Sequeira is the co-founder of the Santa Gráfica art academy in San José, where he teaches painting and drawing to students of various ages. He is also a member of the International Association of Art (AIAP-IAA/UNESCO) and the Mondial Art Academie in France.

His work has been exhibited in multiple cities, including Paris, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, Bogotá, Guatemala, and throughout Costa Rica, and forms part of public and private collections internationally.
