HUMAN / Being

HUMAN/ Being is a series that explores the human condition through the body as a vehicle for emotional and social communication. Osvaldo Sequeira employs expanded painting on transparent methacrylate surfaces to depict figures that appear suspended, fragmented, or under tension—capturing nonverbal gestures that reveal deep aspects of our identity. The series invites reflection on how we inhabit space—both physical and symbolic—and how our emotions, intentions, and connections are expressed through the body.

This series was awarded the Francisco Amighetti National Culture Award in the two-dimensional category in 2019.
