Passersby

This pictorial series is a continuation of a previous body of work titled Rainstorms, which focused on the visual distortion of the city during heavy rain. In Passersby, the attention shifts to the people within that urban landscape—the individuals moving through the rain, navigating the streets with resilience amidst the unpredictability of the weather and the city.

Each painting captures human figures in motion, frozen in moments of waiting, crossing, or brief interaction. The rain and its atmosphere remain present, now serving as an emotional and narrative backdrop that highlights the shared and solitary experiences of those who walk the city.

Through painterly language, this series reflects on vulnerability, resilience, and the collective humanity revealed in public spaces during rainstorms.
